Peshawbestown

This Community lies 4 miles north of Suttons Bay on the shores of the Grand Traverse Bay.  Peshawbestown is part of the
Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians reservation.   Though not a town as most would think, it's a community with ties to it's Indian heritage surviving today.   The heritage is proudly displayed with its annual Peshawbestown Pow-Wow every August that is open to the public.

Leelanau Sands Casino located there within the reservation
has brought an economic life to the Band for the last 25+ years.  Along with the bands 2nd casino Turtle Creek Casino near Traverse City they have made a big impact on the local
Northern Michigan economy
